Lessons from the Trail
insights from the literal and proverbial path
Living Meditation
in the midst of all of the thoughts and actions, all of the interactions and transactions of our day, the doubts, or limiting thoughts that creep onto and into us…
Show doubt the door! (and/or the middle finger;)
Belief shoos doubt and fear out the door. “Excuse me, I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”
Nuggets of wisdom from Kathy Aman
We sat down with two time Breathe Yoga franchisee Kathy Aman to glean what we could of how she cultivates and emits so much love, acceptance and encouragement. She gave us some practical and sage wisdom. Here are three main nuggets for you.
Beautiful Views
“Sometimes the most beautiful views are achieved at the most perilous positions.”
Embracing fear as a friend
I was only half sure I truly got the meaning of Kip Moores insight and advice to treat fear as a friend. Treat fear as a friend…Okay I can do that. If Kip Moore, the majorly successful music artist, philanthropist and heart of gold human being says that’s the key to following your heart, I’ll do it.
The V-word, gateway to clarity.
They said we were friends but I did not feel seen or appreciated being in their presence. I kept asking myself and other friends who knew me well ‘why I won’t let it go. Why do I keep looking for a different result out of the interaction?’
Not Alone
I was running in 40 degree weather, precipitation delicately swirling in the beam from my headlamp, Taylor Swift singing ‘cause here we are again in the middle of the night, were dancing around the kitchen in the refrigerator light, it was rare, you were there, I remember it all too well…’
Be yourself. No matter what.
Being hurt can be an excuse for all types of behavior. Is that behavior who you truly are, or better yet who you want to be? I know my life is so much sweeter when I express myself honestly. Today I realize that is what my sweet friend saw when she urged me to reach out to him two months ago. I got it Jax!
Is it worth the climb?
It’s my first time ‘running’ this trail. It is pretty exciting. And by exiting, I mean challenging as heck.
